  1. I just went on your blog and I don't know where you find the strength to carry on each day. I'm curious as to how often you get migraines. I suffer from chronic migraines about 10 times a month and I'm now suffering from depression. God bless you for being so positive!

    1. I have migraines several times a week (15+ days per month), and headaches on the other days. I, too, have had problems with depression.

It is ONLY by God's strength that I'm able to carry on each day. He is my rock. That's not to say that my faith is at all perfect, but it's what helps me through the good and the bad.

      Blessings!

    2. I'm sorry if I'm being too personal but I was wondering when you started having migraines. Is this something that you had to deal with from a young age? I'm 38 and I've been going through it for 7 yrs now and I don't see an end in sight. It is comforting to know that there is someone else who understands what I'm going through (not that it's good that you are suffering). I hope that one day you will have this all come to an end for you. I will definately pray for you! God bless.

    3. Don't worry about being too personal. If I feel uncomfortable about a question, I'll let you know. And, if I may ask, what is your name?

Hmmm, when did I start having migraines? That's such a difficult question for me to answer. In hindsight, some things in my earlier years were most likely migraines. I wasn't diagnosed with migraine until I was in my teens. Regardless of how often I had a headache or migraine, though, they mostly allowed me to be functional. I used OTC meds and Imitrex, which usually helped the bad migraines that I had a few times a year - took meds, dark room, sleep.

However, I was in a car accident in October 2008, which started the chronic migraines I continue to have. I hadn't had a migraine in several months (4-6 months, if I remember correctly). And, the chronic migraines and daily headaches have been with me since then.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with such pain for so long, also. Are you seeing a headache specialist?

  2. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. My name is Margaret by the way. I've been reading your blogs and am so inspired by you and your story. No one around me really understands my migraines and what I go through. My mother and grandmother suffered from migraines but not to the extent that I do. I get VERY depressed when I start an episode and somedays I just don't see an end in sight. It's a very lonely place living with migraines and I have 2 children as well. My oldest is 11 and the youngest is 2. That for me is the hardest...I feel that I am failing as a mother. I'm so sorry to hear about your pain and I'm religious as well and find my ONLY peace is with God. I have faith that he will take the pain from me one day and I just have to wait patiently. I'm sure the same will be for you! Take good care...God bless!

    1. Nice to meet you, Margaret. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Thank you for your kind words, and I'm honored that you find inspiration in me/my story.

I can't imagine dealing with migraines while raising children. I'm sure you're not failing as a mother. Perhaps your family dynamics are different than other families; but it's just different, not a failure on your part.

      Take care.

      Blessings,
      Jamie

  6. Hi Jamie,
It is just heartwrenching to hear of your suffering! You are just too young and beautiful to have to suffer so much. I would love to offer you my help as best as I can. I myself have started to go to this clinic and the results are nothing short of a miracle. Please read this article and maybe you can somehow make it work. http://www.chatelaine.com/health/wellness/migraine-therapy/
I don't believe that there are any coincidences in life. I'm a strong believer that God has his hand in everything. You don't need to suffer anymore! Take care and God bless.
PS. I promise never to bring it up again...lol.
